E-retail User Engagement
December 2017 - January 2018
Fictitious Nyasa Bath and Body design project.
One of the projects I worked on with OSMOS Multimedia Limited for their client Nyasa Bath and Body was for their client Nyasa Bath and Body. It's an online store that sells skincare, perfumes, body mists, cosmetics, and hair care. While working on the designs with the team, I discovered Nyasa also offers a gift box that can be customized with a variety of products. So, when clients are on their landing page and marketing campaign, I wanted to include a gift part in the survey to see what products they analyzed and whether they want to give it as a present or keep them for personal use. But as this was for customer engagement. The objective of this design was to get the customers to sign up on their website.
Pain Points:
The first page lacked branding - When I was working on the landing page design, I noticed that there was no Nyasa Branding. Since this was a Mid-Fi design where the small details were not that important. As I was trying to go for a simple web page that will give you what you wanted and not be too wordy.
Difficult in getting users to sign up - By analyzing customer behavior at the relationship level, it is difficult to get the new target users to sign up. But 55% of the users will sign up out of curiosity as they are not paying anything to sign up. But the remaining 45% will choose not to do it because they will think it is too much work.

Page 1 - let the survey begin.
As we can see this is designed for interactive user experience and is simple to use with not a lot of complex options on the interface. Which was the aim of keeping the customer engaged for several minutes until their curiosity kicks in. They get to choose their choice of the category they are looking for. For example, if the user hits "Skin Care" page 2 will open.
Page 2 - Example of Questionnaires of the Survey.
This is an example of how all the questionnaires will be for all the categories. Similar layout with different questions related to their categories. This design is meant for focusing attention on the questions, that way it is easy to understand for the users to know what they are doing on this page. Once all the questions are answered the server will analyze the data and suggest ingredients that will be good for them on page 3.

Page 3 - Details of user products.
After analyzing the data input by the customers, it will be displayed on page 3. The server will try to match the ingredients the user got after the survey and suggest to them some Nyasa products that contain that. Along with up selling the other products which are on sale or high selling products. But this page will not display the entire description. As we can see in the picture on the right the white blur box contains more information with product details. Users can only access that by clicking on "Read More" which will take them to page 4.
Page 4 - Sign up or sign in to access the whole description.
On page 4 the users will be asked to sign up or sign in if they already have an account with Nyasa. They cannot proceed future to the entire description without signing in. This is how the customers signed up for Nyasa bath and body and they can achieve their target customer engagement.

Retrospective:
When I was working on this project, I got to experience real-time UX designing, I also did marketing for the same client by publishing on forums and recording all this in an audio format for the company to document. This experience made me realize how much I enjoy designing and it is something I am interested in. There was some imperfection on the first page which is something that will catch users' attention. Is something I would be working on, by making sure the branding there, more informative so the users know what are they expecting from it and what is this website about.
